DAR ES SALAAM, April 9 -- THE government is targeting 672 million US dollars in exports through its Special Economic Zones (SEZs), leveraging ongoing projects across the country to boost industrial growth and trade.
So far, the government said, 34 SEZs have been designated, with 25 projects currently under implementation valued at 280.8 million US dollars in a bid to strengthen industrial growth and increase exports.
Tabling the Prime Ministers Office budget estimates in Parliament in Dodoma recently, Prime Minister Dr Mwigulu Nchemba said these projects are expected to generate exports worth 672.63 million US dollars.
