DAR ES SALAAM, Feb. 25 -- A DELEGATION of 20 Tanzanian small-scale miners has departed for Canada to participate in an international mining technology exhibition, in a move aimed at strengthening technical capacity and expanding global market linkages.

The trip has been supported with GF Trucks & Equipment, the authorised dealer of FAW heavy-duty trucks and XCMG machinery in Tanzania, in collaboration with the Federation of Miners Associations of Tanzania (Femata).

Industry stakeholders say improved access to technology remains one of the key constraints limiting productivity and competitiveness among small-scale miners, who account for a significant share of Tanzanias mineral output.
