Germany-funded reconstructed visitor centre inaugurated at the heart of the Serengeti
MARA, Oct. 10 -- In a new move aimed to strengthen the Tanzania-Germany cooperation in the conservation sector, the two partner countries have officially inaugurated a new gateway to the Serengeti National Park, the reconstructed and upgraded Serengeti Visitor Centre at Seronera.
According to a statement issued by the Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA), this is a TZS 3.9 bllion tourism facility located at the heart of the sprawling Serengeti National Park as a milestone in conservation education and sustainable tourism.
It was inaugurated on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, and forms part of wider German-supported conservation and development efforts in the Serengeti ecosystem, including improvement to feeder roads, education and health infras...
