Fish centre to produce 3.6m fingerlings
GEITA, July 17 -- THE Rubambagwe Aquaculture Centre in Chato District, Geita Region, is expected to produce an average of 3.6 million fish fingerlings annually once completed, boosting fish production and supporting aquaculture development in the Lake Zone. Construction of the first phase began on March 17, 2025, at a cost of 1.54bn/-.
The project, which is scheduled for completion at the end of the month and has so far reached 87 per cent implementation.
The Acting Officer in Charge of the centre, Mr Bilali Banali, revealed this while briefing the Geita Regional Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Political Committee during its inspection of the project in Chato District.
