DODOMA, Aug. 1 -- FARMERS across the country earned a total of 2.679tri/- after selling crops through the Warehouse Receipt System (WRS) during the 2025/26 financial year, it has been revealed.

Meanwhile, Local Government Authorities collected 61.05bn/- in crop cess, according to the latest Warehouse Receipts Regulatory Board (WRRB) report presented in Dodoma yesterday.

Presenting the report to journalists, WRRB Executive Director Asangye Bangu said a total of 1.12 billion kilogrammes of nine crops sold through the system in during the year, including cashew nuts, sesame, coffee, cocoa, pigeon peas, lentils, green grams, soybeans and tea.
