DAR ES SALAAM, April 6 -- AS the Easter period ushers in reflection and cautious optimism, the capital market reflected a similarly mixed mood, with rising turnover contrasting against weakening equity prices and subdued investor sentiment.

The latest data from the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) shows market turnover increasing by nearly 11 per cent to 30.43bn/-, signalling improved trading activity compared to the previous week.

However, this came alongside an about 10 per cent decline in the volume of shares traded, indicating that activity was concentrated in fewer, high-value counters rather than spread across the market.
