ARUSHA, Oct. 15 -- THE Permanent Secretaries from East African Community (EAC) Partner States responsible for tourism and wildlife met on October 14, 2026, at the EAC Headquarters in Arusha to discuss measures to strengthen regional cooperation in promoting tourism, conserving natural resources and enhancing the blocs competitiveness in the global tourism market.

The meeting forms part of preparations for the 13th Meeting of the Sectoral Council on Tourism and Wildlife Management, scheduled for October 15, 2026. The council is expected to review the implementation of decisions and directives from previous meetings and establish policy and strategic priorities for the sustainable development of the sector.
