ZANZIBAR, March 14 -- PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has sent a message of condolence following the death of the former Governor of the Bank of Tanzania (BoT), Idriss Rashid.

Delivering her condolence message today, March 14, 2026, in Zanzibar, the Head of State said that the nation has lost a leader and public servant who made a significant contribution to strengthening financial institutions and advancing the countrys economic development.

She further conveyed her condolences to leaders and staff of the Bank of Tanzania, as well as to Tanzanians at large.
