DODOMA, May 8 -- PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has sent a message of condolence following the death of former Botswana President Festus Gontebanye Mogae, describing him as a distinguished leader who made significant contributions to Botswana and Africa at large.

In a statement issued by the Directorate of Presidential Communications today,May 8, 2026, President Samia said the late Mogae played a key role in promoting good governance, economic management and efforts to address public health challenges during his leadership.
