ZANZIBAR, Aug. 14 -- PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has thanked former Guinea-Bissau President Umaro Sissoco Embaló for travelling to Zanzibar to attend the Kizimkazi Festival, saying the participation of visitors from Tanzania and abroad adds value and prestige to the event.

President Samia made the remarks today, August 14, 2026, during the climax of the Kizimkazi Festival, where she also commended sponsors and various stakeholders for their contributions towards making the festival a success.

“We sincerely thank President Embaló for travelling and being here with us. I also thank the sponsors and everyone who contributed to making this festival a success,” President Samia said.
