DAR ES SALAAM, March 31 -- PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has commended improvements in public financial management after receiving a report by the Controller and Auditor General (CAG), which showed an increase in clean audit opinions for the 2024/25 financial year.

The Head of State said the rise, compared to the 2023/24 audit, reflects positive progress in strengthening systems for managing public resources, while urging swift action to address the remaining shortcomings highlighted in the report.

“The CAG report shows that clean audit opinions have increased compared to the previous financial year. This is a good step that demonstrates how we are improving our strategies in managing public resources,” she said.
