DODOMA, Aug. 29 -- PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has witnessed the swearing-in of the newly elected Vice-President, Deogratius Ndejembi, urging him to regard the position as a responsibility to serve Tanzanians and not as a privilege or kingdom.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony in Dodoma on Saturday, the Head of State revealed that the decision to appoint Mr Ndejembi was based on his qualifications, leadership experience, discipline, professionalism and youthful energy, which she said would enable him to effectively execute the duties entrusted to him.
