ZANZIBAR, July 23 -- ZANZIBAR President and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has officially launched public transport services using electric buses, alongside the Malindi Bus Terminal, in a move aimed at improving the public transport system and promoting the use of clean energy in Zanzibar.

The launch, held on July 23, 2026, was accompanied by a directive from President Mwinyi to the Zanzibar Social Security Fund (ZSSF) to expedite the completion of modern bus terminals to enable citizens to fully benefit from the new transport service.
