ZANZIBAR, Sept. 14 -- PRESIDENT of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has said the formation of a Joint Dialogue Committee comprising members from CCM and ACT Wazalendo is an important step towards advancing the reconciliation process and strengthening peace, unity and political stability in Zanzibar.

President Mwinyi made the remarks today, September 14, 2026, at the State House in Zanzibar during the official launch of the committee. He urged its members to discharge their responsibilities with integrity, mutual respect and a commitment to safeguarding the broader interests of Zanzibar and its people.
