ZANZIBAR, July 30 -- ZANZIBAR President and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation and communication between the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania and the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar to enhance the implementation of joint priorities and safeguard the interests of citizens.

Dr Mwinyi made the remarks today during a meeting at the State House in Zanzibar with Charles Ngeleja Kadonya, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation responsible for East African Community affairs, who paid him a courtesy visit following his appointment to the post.
