DODOMA, May 28 -- RESIDENTS of Dodoma District have been urged to turn out in large numbers to welcome Uhuru Torch Race, which is expected to arrive in the capital city on June 1, 2026, to inspect development projects aimed at improving livelihoods.

The call was made by Acting Director of the Dodoma City Council, Vincent Odero, while briefing journalists on preparations for receiving the 2026 Uhuru Torch race in the district.

Mr Odero said the Uhuru Torch continues to symbolise national unity, solidarity and patriotism, values that residents of Dodoma District have consistently upheld over the years.
