DODOMA, Aug. 17 -- PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan is expected to officially open the 16th Annual General Meeting of the Tanzania Organization of Local Government Authorities (TOA), scheduled to take place in Dodoma from August 19 to 21, 2026.

The meeting will discuss how decentralisation of authority can accelerate the implementation of Tanzanias National Development Vision 2050 and ensure that citizens benefit more from development projects and social services in their local communities.

TOA Chairperson Albert Msovela said the meeting is expected to adopt resolutions and strategies aimed at strengthening development management through Local Government Authorities.
