DAR ES SALAAM, May 1 -- DENMARK has expressed interest in strengthening cooperation with Tanzania in promoting trade and investment in the transport sector, particularly through the Tanzania Ports Authority.

Denmarks Ambassador to Tanzania, Jesper Kammersgaard, said his government is impressed by the development of the Port of Dar es Salaam and its strategic direction, during a meeting with TPA management held on April 30, 2026.

On the part of TPA, Deputy Director General Baraka Mdima said cargo handling capacity has doubled, a development that has led to an increase in the number of vessels being serviced at the port.
