DAR ES SALAAM, July 6 -- EVERY community has a role to play in supporting girls so that they can achieve their dreams, particularly through education. Yet, despite significant progress made in expanding access to schooling in Tanzania, thousands of girls living in disadvantaged communities continue to face barriers that prevent them from completing their education and progressing to higher learning institutions.

For many girls, the journey to the classroom is shaped not only by determination but also by the realities of poverty. Families struggling to meet their daily needs often find it difficult to afford school supplies, transport, accommodation and other education-related costs.
