ENGLAND, July 18 -- THE Government has challenged Team Tanzania to improve on its previous performance at the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, urging athletes to compete with determination, discipline and pride as they aim for a bigger medal haul.

Tanzania will participate in the 23rd Commonwealth Games, scheduled for July 23 to August 2, with hopes of surpassing the three medals won at the previous edition in Birmingham, England.

The country will be represented by 12 athletes competing in four sports: athletics (six), boxing (three), judo (two), while there will be one in swimming.
