DAR ES SALAAM, April 28 -- TANZANIA inquiry commissioner says panel members received hundreds of abusive messages after report release.

A member of Tanzanias commission of inquiry into violence surrounding the 2025 general election said today, April 28, 2026 that commissioners had received more than 300 abusive messages on their mobile phones following the submission of the panels report to President Samia Suluhu Hassan.

Speaking to editors and journalists in Dar es Salaam, Ibrahim Juma said the reaction reflected what he described as a growing intolerance toward differing views in Tanzania.
