DAR ES SALAAM, Aug. 27 -- THE ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) has expelled former Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr Emmanuel Nchimbi, from the party.

CCM Secretary-General Dr Asha-Rose Migiro said the decision was reached by the partys organs, including the Central Committee, as part of disciplinary and ethical measures taken against some party members.

Speaking to media outlets today, August 26, 2026, at the CCM Headquarters Lumumba office in Dar es Salaam, Ambassador Migiro said the decisions were aimed at upholding the partys principles, rules and ethical standards.
