DAR ES SALAAM, Aug. 27 -- THE ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) has appointed the Energy Minister, Deogratius Ndejembi, to serve as the Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania.

The decision follows the resignation of the former Vice President, Dr Emmanuel Nchimbi.

CCM Secretary-General Dr Asha Migiro announced the decision today, August 26, 2026, while addressing media outlets at the partys Lumumba offices in Dar es Salaam.

Dr Migiro said Ndejembis app[ointment followed the partys internal process after the position became vacant following the resignation of Dr Nchimbi.
