GEITA, June 22 -- THE Parliamentary Standing Committee on Energy and Minerals has commended Geita Gold Mining Limited (GGML) for its contribution to Tanzanias economy, commitment to local content development and investment in community development projects.

The remarks were made during an oversight visit to the mine, led by Deputy Minister for Minerals Dr Steven Kiruswa and Committee Chairperson Subira Mgalu.

During the visit, committee members toured key operational areas, including the mines main power substation and the Nyankanga Lookout Point, where they received briefings on mining operations, energy efficiency measures, carbon reduction initiatives and sustainability programmes.
