DODOMA, April 16 -- DODOMA-based Benjamin Mkapa Hospital (BMH), a Central Zone tertiary referral facility, has successfully performed a delicate laparoscopic surgery on a patient from Mvumi Village in Manyoni District, Singida Region.

Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgical technique used to examine or treat abdominal or pelvic organs using a camera inserted through a small incision of about one centimetre.

According to BMH gastroenterologist, Dr Ahmed Binde, the patient, Mr John Godfrey, was diagnosed with an enlarged large intestine following a colonoscopy procedure.

“The patient experienced complications due to the enlarged large intestine and required surgery to correct the condition,” said Dr Binde.
