DAR ES SALAAM, Oct. 16 -- Airtel Money Tanzania customers may experience temporary service disruptions this weekend as the mobile money operator upgrades its platform to improve transaction speeds, security and reliability.

The upgrade is scheduled to begin at 10pm on Saturday, October 17, and run until approximately 8am on Sunday, October 18, 2026, during which some services may be temporarily unavailable.

Airtel Money Tanzania Managing Director Andrew Rugamba said the upgrade is intended to provide customers with a faster, more stable and secure platform.

“Our customers remain at the heart of everything we do. This upgrade will provide a faster, more stable and more secure platform for our customers,” he said.
