DODOMA, June 6 -- THE government plans to complete the formulation of agricultural insurance regulations during the 2026/27 financial year, as part of efforts to expand insurance coverage for farmers and agricultural activities.

Deputy Minister for Finance, Dr Laurent Luswetula, gave the assurance in the National Assembly yesterday while responding to a question from Kafiti William Kafiti (Ilemela- CCM), who sought to know when the government would finalise the regulations to improve protection for farmers and their crops.

Dr Luswetula said the government is currently conducting research on insurance across the agricultural value chain, including crops, livestock, forestry and fisheries.
