Sri Lanka, July 24 -- The Court of Appeal yesterday dismissed a writ application filed by a group of students seeking to postpone the upcoming GCE Advanced Level examination by two months, allowing the examination to proceed as scheduled.

The application, filed by nine students who are due to sit the examination, was heard before a two-judge bench comprising Court of Appeal President Justice Rohantha Abeysuriya and Justice Priyantha Fernando.

The Attorney General raised preliminary objections challenging the maintainability of the application, following which the Court rejected the petition.
