Sri Lanka, June 1 -- Transport and Highways Deputy Minister Dr. Prasanna Gunasena said that nearly four kilometres of the 18.7-kilometre road from Rambukkana to Galagedara, considered the most challenging section to be constructed by local engineers in the history of expressways in the country, will be built on pillars.
He added that another special feature of this project is that this entire section is being constructed by six local contractors.
Deputy Minister Gunasena expressed these views while speaking at the ceremony held under the patronage of the President at the Galagedara Public Grounds to mark the commencement of the construction work on the relevant expressway section.
