WB to boost Colombo Port infrastructure
Sri Lanka, June 19 -- The World Bank yesterday expressed its readiness to share expertise with Sri Lanka on introducing private sector participation in port infrastructure development.
During a meeting with Civil Aviation and Energy Minister Anura Karunathilake, a World Bank delegation led by Country Director Gevorg Sargsyan emphasised the importance of establishing a management model that provides greater commercial flexibility and operational independence than a conventional state-owned enterprise, while also securing the support of trade unions.
