Sri Lanka, March 9 -- China's top diplomat yesterday (8) condemned the war in the Middle East, saying it "should never have happened" and calling once again for an immediate end to hostilities.
At a press conference yesterday (8), Wang Yi also renewed China's call for an immediate ceasefire and said Beijing is ready to work with Middle Eastern countries to restore order in the region.
Speaking in a wide-ranging press conference on the sidelines of China's Two Sessions, Wang described how the region was currently "engulfed in flames".
