Wanawasala train derailment due to removal of iron levers
Sri Lanka, May 18 -- Investigations have revealed that the derailment of a train travelling from Polgahawela to Kalutara near the Wanawasala Railway Station on Saturday was caused by a drug addict who had dismantled three iron levers used for switching tracks on the railway line.
The Peliyagoda Police, who arrested the 27-year-old suspect, a resident of Jambuwatta, Wanawasala discovered the two dismantled iron levers after he had sold them to a scrap metal yard in Wattala. It has been revealed that he dismantled the two iron levers during the early hours.
