Sri Lanka, Oct. 7 -- The University of the Visual and Performing Arts (UVPA), acting on the directions of the University Grants Commission (UGC), has re-advertised the post of Vice-Chancellor (VC) and commenced a fresh selection process following concerns over a potential conflict of interest and unusual scoring patterns in the previous process.
In a letter dated September 2, 2026, addressed to the Registrar, the UGC directed the university not to proceed with the previous selection and instead conduct a new process in accordance with the relevant provisions and procedures.
