Sri Lanka, April 24 -- The Piliyandala Vidya Shanthi Pirivena or Punchi Kirivehera Bak Maha Perahera, a cultural festival that combines cultural heritage and religious blessings, will be held for the fourth time on Saturday, April 25, on a grand scale by the Bak Maha Perahera Organising Committee of Vidya Shanthi Pirivena.

The main objective of this festival is to add religious blessings to the Sinhala, Tamil New Year, which is a solar festival of harmony, co-existence and prosperity, and to promote religious and cultural awareness without any discrimination of caste or religion, founder of the Bak Maha Perahera concept, the Viharadhikaran, Most Venerable Wellawatte Pannasiri Anunayake Thera said.
