Sri Lanka, Oct. 16 -- The Vankalai Ramsar Wetland Information Centre in Mannar was opened to the public yesterday (15) under the Climate Resilient Nature-Based Tourism initiative.

Deputy Minister of Environment Anton Jayakody and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative in Sri Lanka Azusa Kubota joined senior Ministry of Environment officials, the Mannar District Secretary and project partners at the opening ceremony.

The event was also attended by Deputy Minister of Cooperative Development Upali Samarasinghe, local political leaders, officials from the British High Commission, the Department of Wildlife Conservation and the Department of Forest Conservation.
