US tax reduction brings positive outcome for Lankan exporters
Sri Lanka, July 27 -- The proposed 12.5% additional duty on Sri Lanka from the United States has been reduced to 10%.
The United States has taken this decision in recognition of the positive steps taken by the Sri Lankan government to ban the import of goods produced through forced labour or child labour.
Accordingly, the proposed 12.5% additional duty on Sri Lanka has been reduced to a minimum of 10%, the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development says. The Ministry of Finance points out that this decision will bring a very positive outcome for Sri Lankan exporters.
