Sri Lanka, July 27 -- The Committee on Public Finance (COPF) report on the US$ 2.5 million (over Rs.750 million) foreign debt fraud details how the hackers stole the money, but it completely protects the high-ranking officials who allowed it to happen, the United National Party said yesterday.
The UNP issuing a statement said, the report repeatedly uses terms like "system-wide failures" and "procedural gaps" and added but in politics, blaming the "system" is the easiest way to ensure that no specific person takes the fall.
