Sri Lanka, Aug. 27 -- An unidentified male body was found in a forest reserve near the 29-kilometre post on the Habarana-Polonnaruwa main road, Habarana Police said.

Police had recovered the body at around 5.50 p.m. on August 24 following information received from a member of the public.

The body, believed to be that of a man about five feet in height, was found approximately 50 metres inside the forest reserve from the elephant fence along the Habarana-Polonnaruwa road.

The deceased was wearing a red sarong and a blue long-sleeved shirt. Police said the face had become disfigured, making identification difficult. A pair of Bata-type slippers, approximately size six, was also found near the body.
