Sri Lanka, June 30 -- The Mahabage Police have arrested two suspects along with illicit liquor while they were transporting it in a Toyota Corolla from Negombo towards Colombo. The arrest was made in front of the Mahabage Police Station on the main Negombo Road.

According to information received by Station Officer-in-Charge Chief Police Inspector Amila Bandara, during the raid conducted on Friday (26) evening, police found approximately 1,250 bottles of illicit liquor, amounting to 937,500 ml, inside the Toyota Corolla with licence plate No. 16-3774 that was inspected. The two suspects, residents of Dankotuwa, were produced before the Wattala Magistrate's Court on Saturday (27), and released on bail on a fine of Rs. 125,000, for a total ...
