The Ingiriya Police stated that an Air Force officer and another individual were arrested on May 31 for fraudulently obtaining an amount close to Rs. 900,000 from a woman by posting advertisements on Facebook offering online work-from-home job opportunities.
Those arrested are two individuals between the ages of 35 and 40, residing in the Beliatta and Bandaragama areas.
The arrest was made based on a complaint lodged by the woman who resides in the Ingiriya area.
