Sri Lanka, Sept. 17 -- Two female Civil Security Department (CSD) officers died after being struck by a train near the South Kalutara railway station yesterday morning.

The deceased were identified as 58-year-old Vithanagamage Renuka Damayanthi from Mathugama and 53-year-old Dewayalage Guruge Shriyani from Agalawatta, both attached to the Serupita Civil Security Department camp.

The two women, along with Shriyani's 16-year-old daughter, Situmini Jayanethi, were travelling to Anuradhapura to perform religious observances.
