Sri Lanka, Sept. 11 -- Two children have been killed in a hand grenade attack on a house along Sirisangabo Mawatha in Kawdana, Dehiwala, police said.

The two children, aged 10 and 14, were pronounced dead after being admitted to the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital.

Their 52-year-old father was also injured in the explosion and remains under treatment at the hospital.

Police suspect that the attack may have been linked to an ongoing clash between two organised crime groups.

Further investigations are underway.
