Sri Lanka, Aug. 6 -- The Government has ordered the immediate blocking of 24 leading online gambling and betting websites that have been operating illegally in the country without valid licences. The decision was taken by the Gambling Regulatory Authority, which operates under the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, in accordance with the powers vested in it under the Gambling Regulatory Authority Act, No. 17 of 2025.

Following a directive issued by the Authority, the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) has instructed all telecommunications service providers in the country to block access to the identified websites with immediate effect.Travel Guides & Travelogues
