Sri Lanka, Nov. 4 -- Inland Revenue Commissioner General Rukdevi Fernando urged the public to obtain their Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) through the department's website instead of visiting the department in person, saying that large crowds at the premises would also delay the department's regular activities.

Fernando when contacted by the Daily News yesterday said those who need a TIN to open a bank account or renew a revenue licence do not have to rush to obtain it.News updates

"They can provide their National Identity Card (NIC) number and home address, and the relevant institutions can obtain the required information," she said.
