Sri Lanka, June 8 -- A tragic incident has been reported from the Daluwa area on the Puttalam-Kalpitiya Road, where three siblings drowned while bathing in the sea.

The incident occurred at around 6:00 pm on Saturday near the Daluwa estuary.

The deceased, who were residents of Thilladi, Puttalam, have been identified as Mohamed Usam (25), Fathima Sahara (19), and Fathima Risthana (18).

According to preliminary Police investigations, the sibling who lived in Thilladi village in Puttalam had gone on an excursion along the Kalpitiya Road on Saturday. In the evening, they went to bathe in the sea in the Mampuriya Daluwa area. While they were bathing, they were caught in a powerful wave and were swept away.
