Sri Lanka, May 10 -- Ten persons were injured in a road accident reported near the 154th milestone along the Beliatta-Kasagala stretch of the Southern Expressway, according to police.

The injured individuals have been admitted to the Tangalle Base Hospital for treatment.Police said the accident occurred when a car transporting a group of Electricity Board employees from Panadura to Kataragama crashed into the rear of a lorry travelling ahead of it.

Further investigations into the incident are currently underway.
