The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has obtained a fresh approval yesterday (25), to detain Sallay for a further 90 days in connection with the ongoing probes into the 2019 Easter Sunday terrorist bomb attacks that will allow investigators to continue questioning Sallay over the circumstances surrounding the attacks.
The extension has been granted under Section 9(1) of the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Act No. 48 of 1979, following an order issued by the Defence Minister.
