Sri Lanka, Aug. 13 -- Former Private Secretary to former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa Sugeeshwara Bandara has been further remanded until August 25 by the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court. The order was issued yesterday (12) over allegations that he misused public property and drew salaries allocated under the President's Expenditure Head for two positions.
The Central Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) told Court that the investigation concerns whether Bandara received two salaries while serving as a private secretary to former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in 2022 and subsequently as a Project Director at the Presidential Secretariat during Ranil Wickremesinghe's Presidency.
