SriLanka, Sept. 23 -- Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa's Private Secretary, Sugeeshwara Bandara, has been further remanded until October 7 after the Fort Magistrate's Court rejected his bail application today (23).

Bandara was produced before the court in connection with an ongoing case over allegations that he received two salaries under the President's expenditure head.

He is accused of receiving a salary while serving as Gotabaya Rajapaksa's Private Secretary in 2022, while also working as a Project Director at the Presidential Secretariat during former President Ranil Wickremesinghe's tenure.
