Sri Lanka, July 21 -- New Democratic Front (NDF) MP Ravi Karunanayake yesterday said that both the United National Party (UNP) and the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) require strong leadership to navigate the current economic and political climate. Speaking during a media briefing in Colombo, he linked the lack of cohesive political leadership directly to the economic burden currently pressing the public.

He questioned why the benefits of an allegedly growing economy are not reaching everyday consumers, highlighting the soaring cost of living, rising essential transport fares, and standard rice pricing anomalies.
